This
Witchblade gauntlet was sculpted for my wife Janell to wear at the 2004
San Diego Comicon. Castings were taken of her arm and hand to give me
solid stone armatures to sculpt on. Oil based clay was sculpted on the
armatures and several negative stone molds were mold out of Ultracal.
Hot Glue was shot into these molds to create the finished pieces which
were blended together also using hot glue. The finished pieces were painted
with automotive paints and a special three step shimmer paint that reflects
in burgundy, purple, blue, and yellow, was used to accent the detailed
insets. The whole piece was sealed in a clear acrylic. The rear gem on
the gauntlet lights up and is touch activated, it flashes in a random
sequence of blue, red, green, and yellow.
